Google's SMTP relay requires authentication at the account level as well as
either SSL or TLS. Normally that's where the i falls short. Either
because it can't do it or importing the required CAs is foreign to most.
That's where the PC proxy comes in to "solve this problem"..

This is the main reason over 12 years ago I created MAILTOOL Plus which
lets you send mail with virtually any email provider and is customizable
down to the single email level where the i is normally at the system level.

I use gmail for business now (I think G Suite is just the new name for the
API apps they offer. Google Apps was renamed to G Suite. They may have
included their SMTP service in this too but I haven't heard).

administer your IP address with G Suite. (Which of course will need your i
open through proper firewalling)
