Since you are willing to explore other scripting methods, the Google Drive API looks interesting, and has examples for several environments like PHP or Node.js https://developers.google.com/drive/v3/web/quickstart/nodejs. Pricing for Drive is $1.99 per month for 100 Gb.

Thanks Nathan - Aaron just told that that is basically what he is doing.

What I don't quite understand is why he uses S3 storage when the AWS has its own storage.

Anyway - I'm also exploring PHP scripts that will talk directly to S3 and see if that helps.

In the meantime my current supplier (ADrive) seems to have got their act together again!

To simplify the switch it has to be FTP capable - via scripting.

We set up FTP on an AWS server, and use the IBM i FTP client to push
encrypted .ZIP SAVE FILES up to it.

Last I checked, IBM SoftLayer offered an FTP service in their storage cloud
too.
