porting C library to Power i

I've been tasked to port "a library of C functions" to Power i V7R1 - to
be used in an encryption project and then use them from RPGLE apps. This is
short proof of concept project.
I'm not sure the terms "library" and "functions" are correct.
I've been given the plan to deploy on an AIX system.
This currently running on AIX and Win systems (and not sure if same C
functions or different set for Win and AIX) but all is written to use with
DB2 LUW.
It's not open source so did not start with that list.
Assuming if AIX port it will involve Pase, and is installed.
There is IBM docs going back many releases, so I need to know what is the
current method for our current level V7R1.
