My first thought would be to check the host table entries(cfgtcp option10)
to see if there is a host table entry with the (now new) proper system name
and IP address on it. This is the one entry that I break the rule of "all
entries in DNS not on host table" so the IBM i instance and many of the TCP
functions can start even if they cannot see the DNS server for some reason.
Also the Domain information should match as well (cfgtcp, option 12)
90% of the time when those are out of whack, the Admin server has a fit like
you are describing.

Subject: V7R2 Admin4 not running
Where does IBM hide the system name on the admin web server? I just renamed
the system and the admin4 SSL site starts and stops. The logs show it is
looking for the old name and not the new name. Where in the admin server
configuration is this set so I can update.
