As an IBMi dev, here are some highlights of the things I've used Java for.

-Access MS SQL Server data
-Encrypt sensitive data before transmission to 3rd parties
-Read/write MS Office files
-Natively print PDF files
-Merge multiple PDF files into a single PDF
-Interact with Subversion (source version control system)

Subject: RPG and JAVA

I know almost nothing about JAVA. Maybe even less.

Does JAVA have capabilities that cannot be performed in RPG? What is/are the advantages of JAVA over RPG?

Is there a web page that explains any of this?

Thaks
