Let's simplify this by using an example where the choice was in the same

file and the file looked like this
Quarter Amount
1 25.00
1 75.00
1 2.98
2 4.32
2 7.00

And you want to see
Quarter1Amt Quarter2Amt
102.98 11.32

And other grouping, columns displayed, etc is just gravy? Right so far?

In a simplified scenario, yes. ;-) Somebody here mentioned a
pivot (which I've never done) so is that where you're headed? I will need
to pivot some columns and not others.
