Not gonna happen. This is well publicized information. You need at least
Power7 due to hardware limitations.

i ran pre-upgrade verification and it tells me my 9405-520 was not
supported.

Had anyone upgraded this model anyway and got it to work?

I've never seen support dropped within the same release, usually versions.
