What I did (still doing) is any IBMi access needed by the MS SQL side is to create a Stored Procedure to return a data set.
The MS SQL side does not necessarily know the best way to get and splice the data they want together.
The SP use SQL and/or RPG to put together the results they need.
It's ALMOST always runs faster using the SP.
Some of their methods were like pounding a square peg through a round hole using a chicken.

Need advice
Our developer are building application using SQL on Windows that accessing some PF on iseries, we already giving *USE (GRTOBJAUT) for that PF but when the SQL run, it says that it don't have the authority to access the host resources.. Also when I check using QSYS2.SQL_CHECK_AUTHORiTY some of the files status is 0
Can any body give clue where shouls I set the authority?
