Some new information with regard to the customer boxes that are having problems with Tomcat performance.

Some years ago, I wrote a simple CL program and command I call "DELTREE," that's essentially a CL front-end for the QShell "rm" command. It does exactly what it sounds like: after presenting a confirmation screen that requires the user to type a "Y" and press <ENTER>, it does a recursive removal of a specified IFS directory and everything in it.

To remove an entire instance of our webapp with this DELTREE command takes four minutes on a box with the performance issue (an MMB with over 900G in the system ASP, and a ridiculously high CPW rating).

To remove that same webapp with DELTREE on several other smaller boxes with much lower CPW ratings (e.g., an E4D, a 41A) takes about 5-8 SECONDS.

Anybody know why this could be?
