RE: i Access Client and latest java -- MIDRANGE-L

I did a little more debugging at home tonight and have things working again. After trying a few different things with i Access Client configuration I decided to try and roll back to a previous version of java. Noticed when I uninstalled java that it was listed as a 32-bit version and I am running 64 bit Windows 10. When I installed java from Oracle I got the 64 bit version. After a java reinstall i Access Client worked again. Not sure if it was the 32 bit vs 64 bit version that fixed it or just that it was a clean install of java.

My Windows 10 is running IBM i Access Client Solutions: 1.1.5.0 with java.version: 1.8.0_101 and is solid.

My Windows 7 Enterprise is running IBM i Access Client Solutions: 1.1.5.1 with java.version: 1.8.0_66 and is solid.

I refuse to go back to the "fat client" model.

"iSeries Access" is just one of the names for the fat Windows client,
as I recall. I'm running "IBM System i Access for Windows" 7.1 at work

"iSeries Access" name!

"Client Access" has not been in use since forever, as I recall. Maybe
V4R5 was the last of it.

I've seen this mentioned here before (that iSeries Access is not
supported on Windows 10). I presume that means the old Client Access
application.
I'm curious how it is that it's working for me and the other techs here.
We access remote clients as well and have had no problem, including
using the 'receive file from host...' on the Actions menu.

What's different for me?
