I was careful to say that my Java comment had nothing to do with the
original post and had only to do with the discussion of Java versions. And
it only pointed out what Java versions were supported on what versions of
the OS. Strictly technical information with no opinion whatsoever.

But, yes, I am a strict believer of trying to stay current on the OS for
business reasons. If someone wants to help a hobbyist to revive V4R4 to
run something they're free to do so though.

If a thread juts off too wide I will often change the subject.
