Reliability can be increased using Dual-VIOS with dual-Network-card each.
Latency: right - can be awfull, but using ZFS on an appropriate server at least
some better than VIOS-local FC disks without write cache.

We run about 400TB iSCSI storage for archive LPARs where latency
or performance in general is not that issue…

Correct. iSCSI was supported for a while as a source but never as a target.

iSCSI storage would not meet the requirements for latency or reliability for IBM i.
