The way Scott has described Profound UI (and I don't have much more to
go on than that) is that it is indeed designed to be accessible to
display file programmers (it's *steeped* by the way, as in tea leaves
that have been sitting in water for a long time) BUT ALSO to allow
that second group of programmers to do their thing if they want.

You may take the view that the accommodations that PUI makes for
display file programmers is, by architectural necessity, a hindrance
to doing things the prevailing way in "native" Web world. I'm not
qualified to make that judgment.

I do suspect that something like PUI will be less
objectionable/difficult for the second group of programmers than a
pure HTML/CSS/JS/etc. technology will be for the first, by and large.
