I do find it easier, when talking interactively to someone, to give
them larger numbers of simpler steps. When the instructions are in a
copy-pastable form, then absolutely fewer pastes is better. Another
tactic I use for verbally stepping through something with someone:
Just go straight to spelling everything letter-for-letter,
keystroke-for-keystroke, rather than trying to pronounce words. I'd
rather walk through things slowly once than quickly lots of times.
