How do I get a browser open on the HMC so that I can type in a URL to
manage my tape drive?
We have a CR8 HMC which is conveniently close to the tape drive. The
tape drive uses a web browser to move tapes around. We've been running
that browser on the HMC but had a long power failure and the rack got
powered down. The system is all running again, except for the browser.
It looks like Firefox, but Ctrl-T doesn't have any effect. When I open
the restricted command line I can ls /usr/bin and see Firefox there, but
the HMC disallows running a command with a slash in it. PATH is a
read-only variable, so I can't change that. The Knowledge Center did
not reveal the secret to me; searching only tells me how to configure
the way to reach IN to the HMC, not the way to start a browser to reach
OUT from it.
