It was installed and the 70 days is up.

Someone forgot to order the license for this.
We need the file transfer utility. We have a bunch of DTF's that cannot be
run on that LPAR.
If there is something that can use the DTF's we would consider that in the
short run.

thanks

1 - Do you have XW1 downloaded and installed? If not, do so. You do have
that 70 day try and buy.
2 - Are you talking about 5250, or some of the other applications which
check host licensing, like file transfer?
3 - If you're talking 5250 can you figure out a workaround like:
3a - Pointing to another lpar that, after they signon, gets them back to
this lpar via telnet or some such thing
3b - Using the 5250 emulator supplied with the web navigator
http://youribmi:2001
3c - DOS telnet. Ugly but a possibility for the short term
3d - An alternative 5250 emulator which doesn't check the host licensing.

I called ESS and they require this to go through the BP. That will take
days and this is impacting a priority project.

Does anyone know if there is an expedited way to order a license or get a
temporary license?

Thanks

You can download either
IBM i Access for Windows
or
IBM i Access Client Solutions
from ESS.

But I suspect you're talking about the server support side of things to
avoid things like
MSGLM0017 - Failure, Unable to access the host server licensing
information. rc2= 0x0003 0028 (LICENSE_INFORMATION_NOT_FOUND)
when you try to point a 5250 session to some lpar which does not have
Resource
ID Option Feature Description
5770XW1 *BASE 5050 IBM i Access Family
5770XW1 *BASE 2924 IBM i Access Family
5770XW1 1 5101 IBM i Access Enablement Support

or
WRKLICINF PRDID(5770XW1)
has a "Usage limit" less than desired.

Normally my boss handles that and I think it almost always involves
contact with our BP.

I need to order a 5 user license for iAccess v7.

I thought you could order it on the web and get is immediately. I
thought
it was orderable from IBM DIRECT but I cannot find IBM Direct or any
links
on the new IBM web site.

Does anyone know if we can order iAccess on the web and get keys?

TIA
