Unlike the Submit Remote Command (SBMRMTCMD), the Run Remote Command (RUNRMTCMD) does not require a Distributed Data Management (DDM) File [and thus the DDM connection for the requesting job, for which the Reclaim DDM Conversations (RCLDDMCNV) may be desirable to know of as well]. Of course that reduced burden for activation may not override the possibly ill-perceived nuances of the workings of the latter; but merely for effecting a SBMJOB request, the RUNRMTCMD is much more succinct.

If DRDA is established, the SQL can be used to invoke a stored procedure; that stored procedure could be a CL interpreter that accepts a command string; e.g. the Submit Job (SBMJOB) request.
