When you have that branch in China that says "WTH you mean the system is
down for a part of our prime time so that you can do a backup?!?"...
Or that business partner that sends you EDI at o'dark thirty... (directly
with no VAN)

Now, every individual transaction is backed up to a different machine in a
different city. And then it is moved to tape on that system on a nightly
basis.
We don't stop the replication of the transactions from one machine to the
next during the backup. We just stop the posting of the journal entries
to the backup data during the backup.
