Scott K has a couple of articles about UDTF and the IFS

Might not exactly match your example, but should be easy enough to modify.

Hmm, is there such a table function for stream files in the IFS?
select FileName, PostToDb2(FileName)
From ReadDirectoryUDTF('/ftp/thatcustomer/upload')
where upper(FileName) like '%.XLS'

where ReadDirectoryUDTF was a table function to read a directory and
PostToDb2 was a UDF to post an Excel worksheet to some DB2 file.

Would be nice if IBM came up with a ReadDirectoryUDTF. I can understand
PostToDb2 would have to be customer generated.
