You have to use the *LOCALSYS server for SEQUEL to use SQE - if you have lots of views built over time, they are not likely to be set for that server.

If you want to use IBM i syntax, set the SYNTAX parameter to server when SERVER is *LOCALSYS.

Are SEQUEL salesmen truly stating this to be a fact?

I can positively assure you that is most likely not the case. We have thousands and thousands of SEQUEL views and very, very few use and go through SQE.


Even worse is when you try to force SEQUEL to use a valid DB2 for i SQL statement and it pukes all over itself because SEQUEL doesn't understand native syntax.
