Paul,

It's hard to come up with a generic way to do this since all vendors may
do it differently. Since your vendor failed to provide installation or
upgrade instructions via their readme.html (unless of course there was a
STW link in that file) then you're down to either calling the vendor or
plugging through it on your own.
