I appreciate the efforts you've completed to get past those hurdles. But
what I think Paul is saying is that you need test lpars in which you run
with the latest PTF's for all levels of the OS you support. In which you
have some quick regression testing that can be completed after putting on
the latest cume and groups for each release on a frequent basis, maybe
even weekly (some of those hiper groups come out fast and furious).

I would go so far as suggesting that all vendors should sign up for IBM's
early ship program and be ready to support new releases of the OS on day 1
of announcement. Let me know if you need contact information. Searching
for this contact can be tough. A search for partnerworld shows promise
but the site is really slow and seems to be requiring authorization just
to look at it. I am not a partner.
