Totally agree - Windows will react blue instead.

We noticed this behaviour back in early 1990s when we used a PING to monitor system availability.
One system answered in 1ms all the time, users were complaining not being able to login.
One storage box was down due to internal UPS failure :)

Needed 15 minutes to come up again and continue to run heavy disk load.

As Roberto points out though during A600 there am no programs running. The 'suspended animation' occurs for everything including programs that don't need any access to disk such as your UPS program. While I suppose it would be nice for that program to keep running, what could it do? It can't do PWRDWNSYS because it can't get to disk!
