Paul:

Use DSPJOBTBL to see how many job tables are allocated and how many entries are currently "in use..."

What is the current value of system value QMAXJOB on this system? You could increase that (at least as a temporary measure).

You could change the relevant job description (*JOBD) to e.g. LOGLVL(4 0 *NOLIST) so that a job log is produced only if the job ends abnormally.

You could also change system value QSPLFACN to *DETACH so the system will free up job table entries as soon as each job ends, but you may want to research the ramifications of doing this, since this is a system-wide system value that will affect ALL jobs on the system.

You can also issue CHGIPLA to request the system to "Compress job tables" on the next IPL.

We launched a new app several weeks ago, each occurrence of this creates a new job and job log.
We previously ran about 4,000 jobs per day, now we are now up to 18,000 jobs per day, on the average.
I keep joblogs for 90 days.
We now hit 90% of job tables,
WRKSYSVAL SYSVAL(QMAXJOB) already set at max, cannot be increased. I wish this could be increased.
DSPJOBTBL
Total . . . . . : 436831
Maximum . . . . : 485000

I think my only option is to change the new app not to create a job log,

Any other thoughts from the group.
