Hi, Larry:
This is interesting ...
I found a good Redbook (Redpieces) book titled: "Best Practices for
Managing IBM i Jobs and Output" -- REDP4454 at
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/redp4454.html?Open
I have a few questions about changing the system value QSPLFACN:
#1. if I change QSPLFACN to *DETACH, does it go into effect immediately
for all subsequent jobs, or only after the next IPL?
#2. when I change QSPLFACN to *DETACH, does it retroactively detach all
spool files from the many jobs that have already ended, or do I need to
do some other "clean-up" tasks to clean them up and reclaim those old
job table entries?
Thanks,
Mark

Glad you fixed the issue of course but may I ask why it would not work
in your environment?
