Even further back was the portable AS/400 model P01. The first one I ever
saw was at COMMON in New Orleans (1993?), and I remember it having a clear
plexiglass case for those who wanted to see the internals.
It was hand-carried from Rochester to the conference.
Too bad those never really went anywhere.
