Have them look at this product code -

5733-RDG-0006 OTC UPG PER AUTHORIZED USER (FROM

This is for the authorized user license - the first item in your list - and that is almost certainly what you want - Buck made some comments to that effect.

You do not want the modernization versions unless you are writing Java EE WAS type stuff.

Our price was something like 40% off of the 968.

I hope the program is still in effect - ours was just over a year ago, and people said it was discontinued THEN - but it wasn't!

Worth a try - and a push on your BP to get off their Butts.

Vern,

Thanks for info and update.
Our BP is not very familiar with RDI, info and pricing is confusing.
We currently have 40 5770WDS licenses.
We currently have 5 programmers, 1 operator, 1 application admin, and 1 i5 admin.
We had a one seat license for RDI back in 2012 when we migrated to P7, but it wasn't included in our maintenance renewal, didn't get renewed, BP slipup.
Below is the pricing I pulled from the site.
Not everyone would need a RDI seat, not sure which way to go at this point.

You don't have a choice for replacing SEU - RDi is it.

Having said that, there is an ADTS trade-in program that brought the per-seat cost down around 600 bucks - it is easiest to use this program by going through your BP. Ask them about it - product code 5733-RDG might be the thing.

If you look at WRKLICINF for ADTS, you will likely see a bunch of seats now, this was changed at 6.1. You'll still have lots of ADTS seats for those who need PDM, etc. We had 25 on our LPARs.

Prices vary for different editions of RDi - the price displayed on their site is for a single-year license - it will end up being more expensive in like 2 years.

You also PROBABLY don't want the floating license.

There ARE productivity gains with these tools, AND SEU is no longer being updated.

Good luck

1) What is RSE (Remote System Explorer)?
2) Is RSE a replacement for PDM?
3) Would RSE be another option to RDI?

As the programmers use more of the new features, the SEU syntax checking frozen at 6.1 is becoming a bigger issue.
Again, looking for SEU replacement options.
RDI was tabled due to cost justification.
