For years now I've been using Projects in WDSC/RDP/RDi for this purpose.

Create a project, select the remote sources you want to include, push the button. Done.

Can edit them on the workstation, use any edit tool you like, push them back to IBM i later - same system or a different one - and on and on.

The old fashioned way is to use FTP. Many years ago I wrote an FTP
batch script that automates much of this. This version works on Windows 7.
