The 520's can run 7.1 and it is much easier to move to a new system on the same OS. The new 720 will run 6.1 and 7.1

Yes you can purchase a new system and software. Since it is such a small shop it may not be difficult to recreate the users and security and It could be a good time to tighten security. Make sure you get quotes for upgrading the 3rd party software.

Subject: Buy a new system

I have a customer that has a 520. The owner of the company likes to buy a
new system every 5 or so years. They are a little late but they came to me
to get them quotes.

I don't even know where to start. It's a small company with 10 green
screen users so I'm sure the lowest capacity new system would be plenty.
They run a LANSA website, some EDI, and Townsends secure FTP product.

I asked another customers vendor and he said "just upgrade that system to
7.1".

Is it not possible to buy a new system and upgrade the software anymore J
