As far as Mimix to another system, there are ways in Mimix to omit and
include certain directories. If you need help with that, let us know.
We're a Mimix shop. However the system using virtual tape is not one of
those lpars. Shouldn't matter as far as advice goes.

If your ftping the data shortly after it's save to virtual tape then I see
that as sufficient and definitely no need to Mimix it.
