FWiW... I infer the current process, per use of file suffix ".csv", is an apparent text-export of database data. There are Database-specific transport mechanisms which should be able to replace any export\import activity. And the DB2 for IBM i database allows several ways to directly access the active data, rather than merely making copies, so a database on another system can perform direction actions against the data on the IBM i. Such database methods to access the IBM i DB2 data are built with the capability to understand the SQL data types and SQL DML, plus non-SQL accesses may be available, and the accesses to the DB2 for i data will automatically effect the CCSID translations.
