I've lost some of the original train of thoughts as to why you were
avoiding OMITs in BRMS. I think it has to do with your restore.
On a related note, when we do our restricted full system save we specify
OMITS(*IGNORE)
On a daily basis we do have a lot of "this not saved" kind of stuff due to
locks. Mainly the log files you noted. I have a lower priority item on
my list to some day deal with this.
I do have some directories in which I specify the whole directory as
Can be saved . . . . . . . . . . . . . : No
/QFPNWSSTG is one of these.

So there's a few ways to do this, inside, and outside, of BRMS.
