For the DB2 manager is as if you were doing a DROP column operation. There
is, of course (IIRC) the option of specifying RESTRICT in the ALTER
statement. Don't remember the default, though (CASCADE or RESTRICT).

Sometime ago I wanted to get a DB2 certification and I read a lot about DB2
in Windows, Linux, etc. DB2 in other platforms can be quite powerful and
flexible but, at the same time, they can be a lot more complex than the
implementation we have in the IBM i.
