That implied requirement is specific to using a LOB LOCATOR vs a general use of a LOB column.? I can for example, issue an INSERT or UPDATE to a CLOB column of a non-journaled TABLE, or an INSERT or UPDATE to a CLOB column of a journaled TABLE even while using the WITH NC as the isolation clause. Thus that statement of an apparent requirement for use of isolation other than NC, must not to be as general as seemingly implied.? Presumably the implication for that requirement is somewhat specific to [perhaps a non-local client application requester and\or for] use of LOB LOCATORS within embedded SQL; i.e. much like for the 16MB limit implied for the CLOB, from the same\above quoted message, was the need for CmtCtl meant to imply only about use of "CLOB support in SQLRPGLE"?
