The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
And, as Chuck said, you would code for that in your HLL language. RPG
might use the error extender on a write or update, analyze what happened,
and process accordingly. Not a bad habit to get into. In decades past
the only error trapping on a write was an assumption that the row already
existed and one should try an update instead. Now you could get data
mapping errors, trigger errors, constraint errors, etc. You may wish to
develop a subprocedure for your write and/or update errors.
