We don't have a reboot schedule, but I have learned that if not rebooted every once in a while they are bound to have problems. Usually we get in some fix packages once or twice a year that require a reboot and that does the trick. I have been meaning to write a shell script that invokes an HMC reboot and schedule it from one of my IBM i partitions every quarter.......your post has reminded me to do that!

Subject: Hardware Management Console - Too many open files in process SRC-E212E161
One of our HMCs called home to IBM this morning with the message
SRC-E212E161 Too many open files in process
IBM tech recommended powering down and rebooting the HMC.
He said IBM recommends rebooting every month.
Do you reboot your HMCs regularly?
