RE: BRMS and Parallel Backup

When we were having tape issues I never did figure out if it was the tape drives, the cables,
the IOA's, sunspots, gremlins, etc. After having gone months without successfully getting
through one save without having to call in IBM, we replaced them all.
Are you going to have backups for all that?

LOL ... Yea... Maybe I need two DR sites then with a full recovery configuration at each !

Hmmmm, Maybe 3 would even be even better.

But seriously, I don't think it's a bad idea to have an extra tape drive though. You can only do so much ....

By 2nd quarter 2013 my plan is to have PowerHA SystemMirror for IBMi in place at my DR site. Then my first line of defense will be cutting over to the mirrored system. Tape restore would become a second line of defense if the DR server fails.
