The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

Its valid as long as the original shared session continues to stay connected. You can disconnect and reconnect a shared 5250 with a completely different password.

Subject: Remote Console Session Key
Is the Remote Console "session key" a permanently saved value, or once
all shared sessions are ended does it not matter any more?
This weekend the console session on the HMC in the computer room went
away, so I had to restart it. I do this fairly infrequently and I did
it this time from memory. We start a shared connection, so that the
system operator can run a shared session from his PC outside the
computer room.
When I got to the "Enter your session key" I put in something that was
*close* to what we normally use, and up came the console.
Of course, on Monday morning the operator could not bring up a console
on his PC.
So have I permanently changed the session key? If so, it seems
dangerously easy to change.
