I am marketing a product called DenyX, which currently monitors 5250 sessions on the i Access emulator for improper shutdown requests, (the red X in the upper right corner), and blocks the request if the session is not on a Sign On screen.

It would be trivial to add the capability of periodically checking the "message wait" indicator, and sounding a reminder tone.

With a little more work, I can add break message capability. I can easily add this as another reminder tone, or as the focus change that you asked for. What I have to test is the effect of forcing the 5250 session to the top of the window.

Are you in a big hurry for this capability?

Our system operator monitors QSYSOPR. If she's using the 5250 session she
(obviously) sees any break message. When doing something other than the
5250 session in Windows she hears the beep and knows there's something.
But she also walks away from her desk for short periods of time for dozens
of reasons throughout the day. If it beeps while she's away there's
nothing to clue her in when she returns.

If the 5250 session could take focus and come front & center when a break
message arrives, that would definitely fill the bill. Can that be done?
