You could scrape the session with HLLAPI and have a PC app watch for specific things to happen.
You would have to write a PC app or script that connects to the session and watches for things to happen on the screen.
This is non-trivial so if it becomes serious and you need something as a utility feel free to contact me directly.
Another more realistic option would be to have the QSYSOPR queue monitored and email her when things occur.
Don't all operators carry smart phones today :-) ?

subject: i Access take Windows focus
Is there a way for i Access to take Windows focus when a break message is sent to a 5250 session?
Our system operator monitors QSYSOPR. If she's using the 5250 session she
(obviously) sees any break message. When doing something other than the
5250 session in Windows she hears the beep and knows there's something.
But she also walks away from her desk for short periods of time for dozens of reasons throughout the day. If it beeps while she's away there's nothing to clue her in when she returns.
If the 5250 session could take focus and come front & center when a break message arrives, that would definitely fill the bill. Can that be done?
Thanks
