The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Generally I agree - and, at the same time, InfoCenter has never been the
place to find out about PTFs - which is what Scott's pages do. Seems to
me that TRs are in the realm of PTFs - that's how the new function is
delivered - and the DW site gives us better information than has been
delivered before. A work in progress, of course.
Admittedly, things have got much more complex, what with HMC updates on
one place and blade center elsewhere, etc.
One problem with InfoCenter is that it just can't be as current as some
other sites - it takes a long time to get content there, and sometimes
there needs to be a faster update. That's not just my guess, it's what
I've been told by someone I trust.
One reason I'm glad to see the stuff at developerworks is, the IBM i
gets all that much more exposure. There was hardly any presence of this
platform on developerworks, which has been a very important resource for
other things related to IBM systems.

I disagree. One shouldn't have to search multiple websites to do an OS
upgrade or new install (just for the OS and LPP's alone).

the place for it now is developerworks -
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibmi - Scott Forstie has put up a
fantastic page on technology upgrades. It should become the main site
for new stuff - InfoCenter takes just too long to get updated.
