The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I know this is an older thread but I recently found I was getting CPF3340 and couldn't for the life of me figure it out. Called IBM and Mark gave me the clues to figure it out.
There are cases were spool files end up on the system but do not have a job associated with them.
For a long time now, we were running something like:
CHGSPLFA FILE(QPQUPRFIL) JOB(000000/USER/JOB) SPLNBR(000001) EXPDATE(*DAYS) DAYS(5)
Just recently noticed we have been getting CPF3340 on about 15 of 150,000 spool files .
WRKJOB JOB(000000/USER/JOB) showed only one job with one spool file. Hmmm?
The right command to use to check for CPF3340 is:
WRKSPLF SELECT(*ALL) JOB(000000/USER/JOB)
We had two!
Why are there spool files without jobs? Two suggestions were mentioned. Abnormal terminations and restoring spool files.
The fix is to add CRTDATE to the CHGSPLFA command.
I did ask if there was a way to display all the spool files that didn't have jobs and the answer was I don't know of one. Maybe one the API gurus can figure it out?
