Last comment, yeah, unless they change object size within the qsys.lib
file system to more than 10 characters then changing user profiles to more
than 10 is not likely. Is a 10.6 file naming system as bad as the crappy
8.3 naming limited in QDLS? No. But comparing it like that can be an eye
opener. IBM has a work around for some items. Like tables, views and
indexes. You can always CREATE TABLE GeeILoveBigLongObjectnames and the
system will generate a 10 character name under the covers to comply with
the 10.6 file naming scheme.

Sample 10.6 file names:
/qsys.lib/qardtdsm.srvpgm
/qsys.lib/qaanzlog.file
/qsys.lib/qusrsys.lib/QAALALTP.FILE/qaalaltp.mbr

If IBM changes this I can just imagine Al Barsa screaming from his grave.
Remember the fit he threw about how his utilities were going to blow when
they increased the size of the library list, number of spool files in a
job, etc?
