I will ask my IBM support team in Rochester.

Maybe LOB, BLOB, CLOB is for storing stream objects in a relational
database

Maybe the relational database I need is

DB2Clob Class

Represents the CLOB DB2 data

DB2Blob Class

Represents the BLOB DB2 data

Does IBM i V7.1 DB2 have capability to store stream files (.pdf, .xls,
.doc, etc.) in a network folder and enable some program to retrieve
these in a manner similar to CHAIN or SETLL?

Suppose a network folder has hundreds, even thousands of .pdf documents.

Using Windows Explorer to open that folder will display all the files,
but viewing the folder becomes slower as the number of objects in the
folder increases.

What is the terminology IBM uses to describe storing binary objects in a
relational database?

I want a relational database for stream file objects with capability for
keys and indexes.
