Well, these seems weird, but you tell me. I knew we had software license
keys. Found 'em in the vault (nice place) and did the ADDLICKEY for Client
Access 5722XW1. But QSFWINV still doesn't show it on the list.
Anyway, I know the keys been added. The only "odd" thing was that the paper
listed a five digit serial number, but ADDLICKEY insisted on to '10' in the
front.

Well, Gary, my initial thought was, "No way." The stores only sign on long
enough to post some transactions, and rarely at the same time.
But I ran the QSFWINV program, anyway, just to see. Funny thing, neither
5722XW1 nor 5722XE1 show up. Been that way since before I came on board > a
year ago; the only things I've installed were QSHELL and the QSYS Includes
library.
I still don't think this is the problem. I've got three sessions running
right now, and it's only the one location. I even tried logging in this
morning before anyone else was on the System i. No dice.

Jerry,
Maybe an odd question but since the PC can reach your i is it possible the
CA license limit has been reached?

Jerry,
Besides Telnet's 23, there are a couple of IP ports involved when using
iSeries access, like login verification (8476) and License Management
(8470). Check this IBM doc (sorry for the wonderful IBM long URL...):
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas1acc12fda96496e4b8625668f00

There is also an old APAR (II12227) that explains some of the ports:
