Subject: Green Screen file Attachments

I have been handed the task of finding out if doing file attachments
in a green screen application is possible. This has nothing to do
with email.

What the powers that be want to do is allow users to press an F key in
an RPG program, open a Windows Dialog (or some other dialog), and
select a file whether it be a word document, spreadsheet, jpeg image,
PDF, or any other file type. Then the file (or the path to the file)
would be saved to the IFS, a network server, or physical file depending
on how we decide to do this.

I work for a contractor that has several jobs in several states. They
want to open a job ticket on the IBM i (version 6.1), hit an F key, and
then save/open any documentation, job photos, etc. for that particular
job.

I'm not really quite sure if this can done or not. This is the very
beginning of me trying to find out if it can or not and any possible
ways of doing it. Has (or is) anyone succeeded in doing anything like
this or is this just crazy?

Thanks for any suggestions. I think I'm going to go gray at an early
age here...
