I think she just has her terminology a little mixed up. She's trying to use a copier to store data on her IBM i DASD. She's trying to use NetServer to do that.

She seems to be calling it "IFS" because she doesn't doesn't know the right term. It's (unfortunately) *very* common that folks use the term "IFS" when they really mean "access to my IBM i DASD via Windows Networking" (which is really NetServer)
