I found this on the wiki:

http://wiki.midrange.com/index.php/5798FAX

with a fair amount of info. Going through it now. It seems to confirm I
need V5R7 of the FAX product for V7R1 of the OS. Forgot to mention that my
BP is already looking into how to get it.

Try ESS or Entitled Software Support. We've stopped using fax (told our
customers to get email or printed), but I still see it there for me. And,
it says 5.7.0.

Subject: V7R1 with 5798-FAX
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

All,

I'm getting ready to go to V7R1 and stumbled onto something yesterday.

I use 5798-FAX at V5R2. I'm signed up for various PTF emails from IBM. I
got one for "System i Recommended Fixes - IBM Facsimile Support for
iSeries"
that listed PTFs for 5798-FAX V5R2 and 5798-FAX V5R7. I didn't even know
there was a V5R7!

Anyway, the email says that 5798-FAX V5R7 is required for V7R1 of the OS.

Can anyone confirm or deny? There is no 5798-FAX period on the V7R1
install
DVDs (nor on the V6R1 install DVDs either, for that matter).

Thanks.
