One issue we had creating overlays was a problem aligning the form with the overlay-- we didn't have enough 'play' between the overlay and the text.

We changed the text to print at 12 CPI instead of 10 CPI. This 'shrank' the used space on an 8-1/2 x 11 document to about 7-1/2 wide.

The overlay was also shrunk to .8333333 horizontally to match. We did have to do some cut 'n' paste to put any logos &c back in the overlay in their undistorted shape. We also trimmed all 'white space' from the top and left side of the overlay. This crams the overlay into the upper-left corner. Since iSeries printing allows you to adjust the overlay "down" and "across," this gives more space to play with.

We placed an extra copy of the logo in the extra white space on the right edge so we didn't have all that 'nothing' hanging around.
