Newer client to older OS i've never seen a problem, older client to newer
OS i've seen too many...

Conversely, one may be at a lower level of the OS and still run a newer
version of System i Access. For example, we're pm V5R4M0 of the OS but
running System i Access 6.1. The "new" stuff won't show up or be useable
until we actually upgrade to IBM i 6.1 or 7.1, but everything else works.
Just need to order the Refresh through your IBM business partner.
